Why 99.9% of Affiliate Marketing For Blogs Are A Waste Of Time

Affiliate Marketing for Blogs is not for everyone. 9.9 times out of 10 you’ll make no money whatsoever, believe me, I tried many times and failed every-single-time.

Everywhere on the internet you are reading success stories on how the website owner made 50’000$ per month and quit his 9 to 5 job.

But that’s the 0.1%.

What they don’t say to you is that if you don’t have a fully optimized blog, a very high speed hosting plan, a very sound SEO plan and a lot of organic traffic from search engines and from social networks, you’ll fail.

And you will spend a lot of money in the process.

Affiliate Marketing for blogs and for sites is an overcrowded market with a lot of competition. And what’s worst is that you will sell products made by other people and get a very thin slice of profit.

Why do you want to do that when you can have a nice profit selling your product?

The Truth About Affiliate Marketing for Blogs

The truth about Affiliate Marketing for blogs is this: if you want to succeed in making money with affiliate marketing, you should strive a lot.

And by “a lot” I really mean 6 to 12 months of working on your website without seeing any improvements in search rankings and in other metrics.

And if you won’t be persistent and if you are going to rely solely on motivation, do not purchase any hosting plan or website desing service.

You don’t really need it.

I started with very simple website desing. A crappy one.

And i grinded for weeks. I published 3 articles per week based on a long tail keyword and I suggest you to take a look at this article here.

I did that for 6 months prior to see any visit from a search engine.

So, how do you think my affiliate product selling went during that time?

It went bad. 0 sales, 0 clicks.

And man, did I get discouraged about that situation. Yes, absolutely.

Not seeing any increasing in organic traffic when you follow thousands of SEO rules that are presented to you as the HOLY GRAIL with which you can get ranked with basically no effort.

That’s fantasy nowadays.

If you get 0 traffic, how can you sell a product?

You can’t sell a product if you don’t have traffic.

Think about it. You open a bakery, a real one, on the suburbs. A low traffic zone.

So you heard about “LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION” thing, but you think it is an advice for other people, not for you, right?

Wrong.

Low traffic zone means that you will not sell bread and pastries. And you’ll probably close in the months to come.

If you open an online business is the same thing.

Don’t ever expect that things are easier than an “offline” business.

Market here is overcrowded. There are many smart people building apps, writing on very good blogs, so why are you going to succeed?

That’s the question you shoul ask yourself.

Why. Start with why, as Simon Sinek would put it.

Don’t buy into hopes and dreams

No, affiliate marketing for blogs and starting a blog only to sell other people’s products won’t make you money.

And that program you just discovered on your Facebook Feed that keeps promising you will make 2000 bucks per day is not your holy grail.

Affiliate Marketing works only if you have a decent amount of traffic, and by traffic I mean organic traffic, directed to your website.

So you don’t pay for users and you get that tiny slice of profit by affiliate sales.

You know what? I could sell you something with affiliate marketing, but I won’t.

I don’t believe in it.

If you want to make money online, you should be a creator of value for other people.

And in the beginning, you must create value for free, you must establish authority.

No one will believe you if you don’t have authority and no one will buy something from you, even if you’re promoting other people’s products.

So, strive for success, and strive to create something good for others.
